Books on a desk with an apple.

Are you free on Tuesday mornings? Could you spend some time helping in a local secondary school? For some children reading can be a struggle and they really benefit from 1:1 time spent reading with an adult. This can not only boost their reading skills, but also their confidence and their attitude to reading which can have a huge influence on their whole education, and their future.

You don't need to be studying English - you just need to be a confident English speaker and enthusiastic about helping children to achieve their potential in literacy.

The sessions are on Tuesday mornings 9-11am. Taxis will be arranged to take you from the Students Union to the school.

Register your interest and find out more here: or call into the Volunteering Office in the Students Union building.
