Volunteer (Anti-Racism workshops with teenagers)

Join a team to facilitate workshops exploring issues of racism and educational inequality with local young people (13-16yrs). Everyone welcome! Facilitate workshops exploring issues of racism and educational inequality with local young people (13-17yrs). *Open up conversations *Unpack terminology *Explore race as a social construct *Discuss the impacts of racism on educational inequality *Empower young people to value their voice No prior experience necessary - just enthusiasm, an open-mind and dedication.

What skills do I need?

No previous experience necessary, just a passion for tackling racism, an open mind and enthusiasm for working with young people. Volunteers will work as a teams to facilitate workshops (1hr), including leading small group discussions. Full training and ongoing support provided.

What will I gain?

Experience working with young people and facilitating workshops.

Training and support

Dates to be confirmed for a training session. The project leaders will be in touch with volunteers once the sessions has been booked.

Time commitment

Minimum one workshop (approx 2hrs including travel). Dates TBC but will be scheduled according to volunteer availability.

TBC - either on campus or in local schools

Travel information

Travel time depends on school location if off campus (volunteers will travel in a group either by public transport or taxi from the SU).
