Event Assistants 2019

This opportunity takes place between 01 Apr 2019 and 31 Jul 2019. Applications closed on 15 Mar.

Assisting the Sheffield Carnival team plan the main and supporting events, liaising with carnival management team, production team, and other key stakeholders. Attending planning meetings and assisting with production support for event set up and break down. Identifying and booking performers for carnival event. On-going artist liaison in build-up to event and on event day. Creating a database of key contacts and suppliers. Participate in de-briefing activities as required to support the improvement of the event for future years.

What skills do I need?

Excellent organisational skills, team player, leadership skills - able to lead teams and drive delivery, confident, good written and verbal communication skills, good awareness of event/project management skills, competent in use of project management tools and software and ability to multi-task and work to multiple deadlines. Flexible and adaptable

What will I gain?

You will gain real world experience assisting a charitable non profit organisation provide activities for children and families and helping to support your local community. Boosting your CV with a reference of the support you have given and the opportunity to develop skills and meet new people.

Training and support

You will receive support and guidance from the Production Manager, Project Manager.

Time commitment

April - July 2019 (2-4 hours a week excluding event day on 22.6.19 - 8hrs)

Home working and attendance at events/activities across Sheffield, as required and agreed.

Travel information

Travel as required to various locations across Sheffield, all which will be easily accessible by public transport.
