Listen to visitors and respond to need
Give information re locations for private prayer and services. Share information on history, heritage, events, meetings planned as lockdown is eased.
Direct visitors to meetings, events, concerts, studies or services taking place within Sheffield Cathedral
Assist visitors with general enquiries about Sheffield, sharing your knowledge of the city and Yorkshire
What skills do I need?
We would prefer you to have:-
A pleasant, approachable and helpful manner
Good communication skills
Sensitivity and empathy – an ability to read people
Good judgement, ability to think on your feet
Ability to keep calm and summon help if required
We would like you to have:-
Knowledge of available resources
Interest in archaeology of site and history
What will I gain?

families and how their lives connected with the Cathedral. Such tales add to your own knowledge and experience.
Training and support
All volunteers will receive full training.
2 hour volunteering slots on a weekly basis.

The Cathedral is a 15 minute walk from Sheffield University's Students' Union. It is also on the 51 and 52 bus routes.
