Friendship through arts, crafts and games for older people in a local residential home.

Guildford Grange Volunteer 2018/19

This opportunity takes place between 17 Sep 2018 and 19 May 2019.

The project involves volunteers going into a care home and completing activities with the elderly residents, whilst having good conversations and getting to know a wider part of the Sheffield community. Activities include arts, music, and board games.

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm and Patience

What will I gain?

Experience of interacting with people of a different generation, people they would never have come into contract with in their daily life. It will improve volunteers communication skills, empathy and creativity

Training and support

Volunteers must attend safeguarding training (there are a number of dates available) and working with older people training on Monday 15th October 18:00-20:00

Time commitment

Sessions run weekly and last between 1-2hrs per session
