Writing Mentor 2018/19

This opportunity takes place between 05 Sep 2018 and 31 Aug 2019.

Work with young people aged 7-18 to build confidence, creativity and skills through a range of engaging and innovative writing workshops. Mentors work in small groups or 1:1, engaging and supporting young people with enthusiasm, energy, and the provision of positive and meaningful feedback.

What skills do I need?

No experience necessary, but a good standard of spoken and written English is essential. Enthusiasm, energy and creativity are crucial to this role, as well as an ability to provide positive and meaningful feedback.

What will I gain?

Mentors have a hugely positive impact on our young people. In return we offer training and support as part of a vibrant team, a chance to learn new skills, and provision of references if needed. We hope you will find the experience very rewarding as you will see the impact of your work first hand.

Training and support

All volunteers receive safeguarding training and mentoring tips during their induction. Project-specific skills training will be offered and extra training requests will be met where possible. A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out by us at no cost to you.
