An opportunity to volunteer on our beautiful community allotment - help us maintain our allotment for work with schools, women's groups & local community.
We need people to carry out gardening tasks on our community allotment ie preparing soil, planting, weeding, harvesting etc.
You will learn how to garden, working alongside experienced people and have the opportunity to work outside in a great environment.
Please note: Due to Covid-19, the allotment sessions are active, but we have far fewer spaces available. You can still apply to register your interest and a member of the team will contact you about volunteering in the future
What skills do I need?
You do not need specific skills, although the work is physical in nature. A willingness to get involved & learn is all that is needed!
What will I gain?
You will gain an understanding of & experience in growing food organically. Benefits to your physical health & general well-being by working outdoors in a peaceful environment. Being part of a friendly team of people. We have many people from other countries who work on the allotment, so you will also have chance to mix with people from different cultures.
Training and support
We provide an induction to the allotment.
We will provide all training & instruction needed, as well as equipment required.
Time commitment
Thursday mornings 10.00am -1.30pm. We provide refreshments & simple lunch.
