Beards & Books is a social enterprise that approaches learning from a dynamic angle. It wants to ensure that young people have access to multicultural books and enjoy the presence of BAME tutors.

Marketing / PR 2021/22

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2022

This role is about communicating Beards and Books’ message to the world, promoting a positive image of our organisation and finding ways to attract a new audience. You will need the ability to reach a wider audience that inspires more people to contribute and, as a result, generate more funds for Beards and Books. With the use of marketing and Public Relations, you will also let the world know the organisation’s integrity in how it spends money. Responsibilities include: -Planning and carrying out PR campaigns and strategies. -Monitoring the public and media’s opinion of Beards and Books. -Using all forms of media to build, maintain and manage the portrayal of the organisation. -Managing, arranging and overseeing events. -Monitoring publicity and press coverage. -Coordinating paid and unpaid advertising.

This role is preferably at the office.

What skills do I need?

-Ability to communicate and network at all levels. -Strong ability to plan. -Creativity. -Ability to multitask in order to organise workload and meet deadlines. -Strong commercial awareness.

Training and support

-You will be given induction training. -You will be supervised throughout your volunteering experience. -You will be given feedback and coaching throughout your volunteering.

Time commitment

There is a degree of flexibility, however we do require a minimum of 2 hours per week to ensure you are kept involved and up-to-date.
