Age UK Sheffield provides all kinds of advice and much needed support to people over the age of 50 many of whom are lonely and isolated.

Age UK Promotions Volunteer 2019/20

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2020.

Would you like to develop your confidence? Or practise speaking in public? Could you host a stall and talk about the services offered by Age UK? Or speak to a group? Or could you deliver our much needed service and information leaflets to shops, cafes, doctors' surgeries to raise the profile of Age UK Sheffield? Do you have promotional or marketing experience that you could develop with us?

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm and self-motivation. Very much would depend on whether you are comfortable delivering leaflets or speaking to the general public about Age UK Sheffield services.

What will I gain?

You will make new contacts and possibly friends. You will work alongside a crucial UK charity which makes an enormous difference to older, isolated and vulnerable people in our communities. You will develop your self-confidence. You could gain marketing and organisational skills. You will improve your CV.

Training and support

We will provide you with necessary training and support you as much as we can to ensure the role is as fun and successful and safe as possible.

Time commitment

Varied. Could be less than an hour a week or could be a regular commitment.

Clubbing Crew project is for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and aims to improve the social interaction opportunities for the participating adults. Volunteer with Older People, Guildford Grange

The Guildford Grange project combats loneliness and creates friendship through arts, crafts and games for older people in a local residential home. Training is Tuesday 22nd October 6pm. Sign up in the Volunteering Office

Help children on the Autistic spectrum with computer activities!
