Open Journal Story Collectors

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

We are looking for volunteers to help us talk to our regular cafe go-ers and find out if anyone has a story that they want to tell in the journal. It can be very cathartic and important for people to feel like their story is being told and people will read it.

What skills do I need?

The Foodhall Open Journal is a quarterly magazine that anyone and everyone can submit a piece to. We accept all forms of submissions that can be printed on paper, except in very rare circumstances (if the submission includes racism, for example). We need volunteers who can listen, write, edit, and interview.

What will I gain?

Journalism experience, and the opportunity to get your work published.

Training and support

Editing advice.

Time commitment

Our cafe is open 10-3 Thursdays and Fridays.
