St Wilfrid's Centre provides support for adults who are isolated or disadvantaged because of mental health problems, learning disability, institutionalisation, poverty, or alcohol/ drug related problems. People who attend the Centre have a wide variety of needs. All are encouraged to maximise their quality of life and overcome barriers of social exclusion. Volunteers play a vital role in helping St Wilfrid’s Centre clients to achieve this

Arts and Crafts Volunteer 2018/19

This opportunity takes place between 12 Mar 2019 and 31 Aug 2019.

Arts and Crafts enable clients to develop their creative and artistic side. Volunteers support clients in these tutor led groups with their artwork by encouragement, sharing of ideas, and helping where necessary. The group also supports other activities such as producing props for the drama group

What skills do I need?

Artistic and creative flair experience of creating own artwork communication skills patience be able to encourage and enthuse clients without taking control of their artwork.

What will I gain?

Training and support

Training and support is available including safeguarding, health and safety. All volunteers attend an initial induction.
