100 hour Third Sector Placement Student 2022

This opportunity takes place between 11 Jul 2022 and 09 Sep 2022 Closing date for applications is 05 Jun.

High quality, fully funded 100 hour placements for current undergraduate University of Sheffield students with local charitable organisations in July - September 2022! There are fantastic placements on offer with Sheffield charitable organisations. See below links to the individual role descriptions. In each role description there is a link to a google application form. To apply, please fill out the relevant google application form for your chosen placement, referring to the role-specific role description. Deadline for Google application form submissions is Sunday 5th June at 11pm.

Following the success of previous year's 100 hour Third Sector Placement schemes, we are delighted to be running the scheme again this summer.

Applicants must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the 100 hour Third Sector Placement scheme. Please check that you are eligible to apply on this information document.

The Remaining Spring 2022 placements are:

Green Estate Sheffield Manor Lodge - Children’s Guided Tours Creator
Research, write and design two new guided tours for children at this historic visitor attraction, with an emphasis on nature and landscape

Sheffield Futures - Premises Project Lead
Explore the potential for on-site events and activities at the HQ of this local youth charity, helping them rebuild post-Covid and bring their space to life again.

Sheffield Maternity Cooperative - Project organiser
Produce a creative work (eg a podcast, zine, film) that gives voice to the perinatal experiences of a marginalised group, to raise awareness of those who may feel powerless in the healthcare system.

Transport 17 - Digital Content Creator and Editor
Develop digital resources,such as the website and social media strategy for this community group who provide transport services to old and vulnerable people in Sheffield.

You can click 'Apply Now' on this advert, but you must also fill out and submit the Google application form relevant to the role you wish to apply for.

You can apply to more than one role, but you must complete separate applications and make sure you answer the questions according to the specific role. Please note that a student will not be offered more than one role in 2022.

This is a paid role and the 100 hours will be completed between July and September 2022.. The pay rate is £10 per hour. Placement students will be employed by and therefore paid by Sheffield Students' Union.

Training and support

Provided by host charity - see individual role description. Sheffield Volunteering staff will host a virtual induction in w/c 27th June for all chosen placement students.

Time commitment

100 hours to be completed between Monday 11th July 2022 - 9th September 2022. See individual role description for more details. Working pattern will be agreed with the host charity. Deadline for Google form application submissions is Sunday 22nd May at 11pm.
