BUCS Nationals returns to Sheffield for three action packed days of student sport, seeing competitors from Universities around the UK competing in Badminton, Swimming, Athletics, Climbing and Fencing.
The event assistant role can cover a wide range of areas from sports specific support to operational delivery and logistical processes. Responsibilities carried out across the 3-day event, may involve results collation and distribution, scoring, medal presentation party, playing area set-up and maintenance, registration and overall sport administration.
18th - 20th February 2022
The BUCS Nationals take place on the 18th - 20th February 2022 across venues in Sheffield. Once you have registered your interest you will receive further information and will be required to inform us of your availablity over those dates.
There will also be a 2 hour volunteer induction training that takes place the week before in Sheffield, this will likely be on the 9th February - details will be confirmed along with the information that you will be sent upon registering your interest in the event assistant role.

What skills do I need?
Some sport specific knowledge in the sports mentioned is welcomed, but not a requirement.
You will need to be an enthusiastic team player who is committed to supporting a positive event experience for everyone.
What will I gain?
This event will major sports event experience, covering a wide range of areas from sports specific support, operational delivery and logistical processes – providing knoweldge and exposure to how a major sporting event is managed and delivered. The tasks and duties performed will provide volunteers with a number of key skills including communication, teamwork and problem solving.
