Give It A Go (GIAG) Volunteering 2021/22 logo

Give Volunteering A Go! An events programme of one-off activities for you to get involved in your city. At each taster session you can try something new, see more of the city and gain new skills.

Support your Community Foodbank

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

S6 Foodbank supports over 1,200 local families every week with emergency food parcels from 12 sites across the city. This means processing 13 tonnes of food a week and they would love some extra help! At this taster session, you will see first hand how a food bank operates and help the fantastic cause by sorting stock, packing bags and loading food for delivery. Tuesday 30 November 9am - 1pm (One-off session, but can volunteer more regularly if you wish!)

When you click on Register Your Interest, you will receive an email with a Google Form - please fill this in to let us know which session you wish to book onto.

What skills do I need?

No skills required. You may be required to do some heavy lifting.

What will I gain?

First hand experience of how a food bank operates and a glimpse of the current scale of food poverty. Meet other like-minded volunteers and help S6 Foodbank to support local families in crisis.

Training and support

Support and guidance will be provided by staff and volunteers on site.
