The workshops will teach some basic vocabulary reinforced with games, songs, and activities and also include some information about the country and culture, with fun facts and quizzes. You will need a good knowledge of either French, German or Spanish as well as good teamwork skills and lots of enthusiasm!

What skills do I need?

You will need a good knowledge of either French, German or Spanish (studied to at least A'level or equivalent, or be a native speaker.) You will also need good teamwork skills and lots of enthusiasm! Experience in teaching or working with children would be useful, but is not essential.

What will I gain?

Experience of creating engaging workshops for children, teaching, teamwork, being in a school and communicating with children. Volunteering alongside studying requires you to plan and prioritise your workload and develop good time management.

Training and support

There will be a compulsory training session for all volunteers (date tbc) and you will need to complete some child safeguarding training (online). Support is available throughout the project from Sheffield Volunteering staff.

Time commitment
