Give Volunteering A Go! An events programme of one-off activities for you to get involved in your city. At each taster session you can try something new, see more of the city and gain new skills.

Knit and Natter for Age UK Sheffield

This opportunity takes place on 22 Jun 2021.

Can you knit? Come along and craft a tiny hat to raise money for Age UK Sheffield, as part of The Big Knit campaign. The tiny hats will be put on innocent drinks bottles and sold, to raise money for Age UK. The money raised helps Age UK be there for older people in need. Free wool, needles and refreshments provided! At your Students' Union. Tuesday 22nd June 2-3pm

Are you interested in taking part but not in Sheffield? You can still knit a hat and send it to the campaign to raise money for Age UK to be there for older people in need. Tell us if you get involved! Send a photo to volunteering@sheffield.ac.uk (we can remiburse your postage costs)

 

What skills do I need?

Be able to knit, or be able/willing to find and follow online tutorials of how to knit. The design of the tiny hat is quite simple but you will need to have basic knitting knowledge.

What will I gain?

Be creative Do something with friends (Sign up together!) Meet other students Bring a smile and joy to people buying a smoothie, and to older people supported by Age UK Free refreshments
