Welcome Volunteer 2021

This opportunity takes place between 22 Apr 2021 and 16 Jul 2022.

We're looking for friendly, chatty people with a ready smile to greet visitors to our wetland nature reserve, answer questions and let them know about wildlife and kids trails. You will help make sure everyone visiting feels welcomed and have a wonderful time at the reserve. Develop people, communication and teamwork skills, increase your knowledge of UK wildlife and the day to day running of a local attraction.

With over 100,000 visitors a year, Old Moor is a very busy site. We aim to deliver first class customer care at all times, as well as giving an outstanding home to nature.

We are looking for someone to provide a warm welcome to all our visitors, providing them with the information they need to make the most of their visit. We need you to be able to enthuse people about wildlife and the RSPB, and actively encourage non-members to join.

At the moment the welcome is outside/ in a wooden festihut rather than in our Visitor Centre.  As covid restrictions lift and welcome moves back into the visitor centre, other duties include answering the telephone, promoting pin badge sales, taking events bookings and serving customers in our shop.
