Children's Play Trail App Volunteer 2020/21

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2021.

This role involves maintenance and content creation for the Zest Play Trail App. This web based App was designed by a UoS Student last year to support children being active through the Summer Holidays. We are looking for someone to update the app on an ongoing basis for each holiday/season.

Throughout the Pandemic Children's activity levels have dropped dramatically. This has an impact on their health and wellbeing, with a knock-on effect to their education. The Play Trail App helps families to get out in to their local area and get active in new spaces. The aim of the app is to provide ongoing challenges and activities that can be completed in local play spaces. To help support this we need volunteers to help manage the app and it's content, create challenges, design competitions etc...

This role can be fully remote, though it is helpful to be able to access the spaces in person to get a sense of what is possible.

Succesfull volunteers will be fully supported by Zest staff, training will be provided to ensure you can use the relevant software. The App is run on the ArcGIS online platform. Familiarity or experence with this software is desirable, but defintiely not essential as training is provided.

The Play Trail app was set up last summer by Alison, one of our 100 hour placement students! Read more about it on our blog here
