The Library Of Life is an independent popup library service which predominately shelves literary works of Black British authors who celebrate the African Diaspora. We work with schools, colleges and universities delivering talks, workshops and drop ins

Photographer 2020/21

This opportunity takes place between 17 Aug 2020 and 16 Aug 2021.

We are a startup community library with ambitions of creating an environment which is unique and authentic to any library the U.K has ever seen. In order to achieve this, we are looking for proactive candidates who value autonomy and leadership. We expect our volunteers to thrive by using their initiative and being resourceful. We give all volunteers the freedom to share ideas and contribute towards the direction of our library as we value the people who are the frontline of the service. We offer training (where needed) and we support each volunteer to ensure they gain a return on investment of their time.

You will be required to attend our events, take photos and videos for our use.

What skills do I need?

Experience of photography, photo editing and video editing. Ability to travel.

What will I gain?

You will be provided with access to high quality photography equipment which you will be able to use for a variety of events. You will be able to expand on your photography skills and add to your portfolio.

Training and support

You will be given training on photography editing and film editing software You will be supervised throughout your volunteering experience. You will be assigned a mentor to help you fulfil your potential. You will be given induction training to get you up to speed.

The role is currently remote. Home Office: Aspect Court, Pond Hill, Sheffield, S1 2WY.
