Online Homework Support Volunteer (COVID-19)

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

As an Online Homework Club Volunteer, you will provide learning support for children via video chat. Either 1-to-1 or in small groups you will help children of different ages continue to learn while they are unable to go to school.

This learning will take many forms; listening/reading with younger children; maths support from foundation to key stage 3; historical research; language practice; the list is broad. You are not expected to be an expert in these topics. You are there to provide guidance and support for the child to progress themselves.

You will be paired with children based on availability, though if there are specific subjects you would not like to do then that can be accommodated. You will have support from Zest staff if you have any concerns or questions.

You will need to have access to Zoom, preferably on a computer, but there is an app for tablets and phones. There will be a process to make sure your contact details are kept secure, as will those of the children.

This role will require an ehnaced DBS check. We will need to see your original documents in person for this check. We will arrange this with you so that Social Distancing measures are followed.

If you have any questions please contact David.mcneil@zestcommunity.co.uk
