SUCV are a student run conservation working committee at the University of Sheffield that have been around for 42 years. This year we are running conservation workshops with children across Sheffield.

Conservation Outreach Workshop Volunteer

This opportunity takes place between 09 Mar 2020 and 20 Mar 2020.

Volunteers are required for a series of conservation themed workshops in after school clubs around Sheffield during March.

Help run sessions to get kids excited about conservation! You will be volunteering alongside SUCV (Conservation Volunteers) to run activities including plant and insect identification, crafts and games. No experience necessary, just plenty of enthusiasm! 

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm and good communication skills. Subject knowledge isn't necessary as training and resources will be provded.

What will I gain?

You will gain experience in working with children, working as part of a team, teaching about conservation and travelling to different parts of Sheffield.

Training and support

You will attend a briefing session run by the Conservation Volunteers' Project Leader which will provide you with all you need to know about getting involved in and running the activities. Travel expenses provided.

Time commitment

A minimum of one session in an afterschool club (approximately 3 hrs for the session including travel) and a 1 hour briefing session.
