ShAFF has a well earned reputation for being a friendly festival, welcoming everyone from outdoors enthusiasts to armchair adventurers.

Events Programme Social Media Officer 2020

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date. Applications closed on 18 Feb.

This role would suit someone who is keen to get experience of environmental communications and events management, and sustainability issues.

Set-up (0.5-1 day)
        • Take info from ShAFF website to create FB event for each ShAFF event (not screenings) - about 30 events (some have been created already)
        • Add the event partner as the co-host
        • Share each events to at least one relevant FB group e.g. cycling
Ongoing (0.5 hours/day min.)
        • Post at least once within each of the events to encourage people ‘interested’ to book tickets
        • Answer people’s questions in the events feeds
On festival weekend
        • Answer people’s questions in the events feeds

What skills do I need?

You need to be comfortable with social media.

What will I gain?

You will gain experience in environmental communications and events management which will be easily evidenced on your CV.

Training and support

Volunteer induction, support and supervision throughout the project.

Time commitment

You need to be able to check in with the events every other day, up to the end of the festival and available for the whole weekend of ShAFF (20th March - 22nd March).

Attend Events with Refugees & Asylum Seekers

ARISE aims to help refugees & asylum seekers feel welcome and safe in Sheffield in their accompanying project. The training session for new volunteers is on Weds 26 Feb, meeting at SU at 5.30pm (Training is 6-8pm in city centre)
