Campus Children's Holidays is a student run charity that provides free respite holidays for children aged 6 -13 from Liverpool.

Group Leader 2020/21

This opportunity takes place between 17 Jul 2021 and 29 Aug 2021. Closing date for applications is 01 Jul.

Campus Children's Holidays is looking for adults to volunteer on our summer projects 2021! Volunteers will act as group leaders and look after a small group of children on 1 week of the summer project.

What can you expect? During the day, volunteers will accompany the children on activities which include a trip to the beach, roller blading and a theme park! In the evening volunteers will be on site with the children, and look after them while they play on the bouncy castle and assault course, or relax in the crafts room.

Campus is a great opportunity to not only have a huge amount of fun yourself but also develop skills working with children and as part of a team.

While we ask volunteers to pay for their train tickets to our location, once there all accommodation and food is provided for free during the week.

We also need volunteers to drive our minibuses - you will need to be over the age of 21 and have had a full driving license for at least 2 years in order to drive the minibuses. Campus will pay for your training and there is also opportunity to practise-drive the minibuses before the start of Campus.

Once you have applied to register your interest we will email you with more information and the link to our application form.

What skills do I need?

We welcome volunteers with a range of skills, but prior experience is not vital. Ideal volunteers will be comfortable with leading a small group of children, will have good communication skills and good teamwork.

What will I gain?

Volunteers will gain communication and team-working skills, as well as leadership and organisation. Campus children can sometimes prove quite challenging in their behaviour due to disruptive home lives and so volunteers will gain valuable problem solving skills and develop their learning and adaptability.

Training and support

Skype/phone interviews are conducted after we receive applications, where any questions or queries can be answered. Coordinators and committee members will stay in regular touch via email to ensure all volunteers are well-informed. Training is given at the start of each week, including safeguarding training and health and safety. Each week has two coordinators who will be volunteers' point of call if they have any issues.

Time commitment

We run our projects throughout the school summer holidays. Each project runs for one week, so volunteers would need to commit to at least a full week over summer (July/August)
