Step Into Christmas Event Steward 2021

This opportunity takes place on 01 Dec 2021

Wednesday 1st December (evening) Step Into Christmas is a fun-fuelled, 12 mile charity night walk through the Peak District with a Christmas themed pub style quiz and a bar, hot food and live music at the half way point (Whirlow Hall Farm). As a volunteer event steward your role is to walk the route with a group of about 20 student participants and about 2 other stewards; ask quiz questions to the participants along the route (this is part of the "Pub Quiz" and questions will be provided to you); make sure your group members are happy and stick together; report any issues to RAG committee.

What skills do I need?

Be happy to walk at least half of the route on the night Be comfortable supervising a group of 20 students completing the route alongside other stewards Confident using a simple map and instructions so you don't get lost!

What will I gain?

Free ticket which includes hot food and drink; live music at the halfway point; entertainment along the route (participants have to pay, but for volunteers it's free!) Be part of a fantastic fundraising event, raising thousands of pounds for local Sheffield charities Gain invaluable skills and have a great experience to talk about on your CV and in interviews! Meet new people and be introduced to the RAG Committee, so you can get more involved in the future if you wish Hi-vis jacket and torch provided

Training and support

Safety briefing and test walk around the route prior to the event (date/ time tbc) RAG committee will be available to support you throughout the event. Warm food and drink, a hi vis jacket and a torch will be provided during the session.
