ARISE- Accompanying Refugees in Sheffield to Events logo

ARISE is a project which seeks to raise awareness of and help refugees and asylum seekers in Sheffield to feel safe and welcome. We organise and accompany refugees to events around the city.

Accompanying Project 2019/20

This opportunity takes place between 25 Sep 2019 and 31 Aug 2020.

Volunteers go in pairs with asylum seekers and refugees to events around the city. Volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the events themselves, or they are able to leave after arrival. The days and times of events vary, so volunteering is very flexible. There is also the opportunity to promote the events at the 'Conversation Club' which takes place regularly on Wednesday afternoons.
