Science Brainwaves offer science based activities to engage children and young people in science.

Science Brainwaves Volunteer 2020/21

This opportunity takes place between 29 Sep 2019 and 30 May 2021.

As a Science Brainwaves volunteer, you will have opportunities take part in delivering science outreach activities for children and writing a science based blog. You'll share your passion for science, and make it accessible and enjoyable. By signing up with us, you will be informed of all volunteering opportunities when they come about throughout the year. No prior experience is necessary, and you will be briefed well in advance of any event. Do you love science? Do you enjoy working with children? Are you buzzing with enthusiasm? If so, then get involved!

What skills do I need?

No experience required. Energy and enthusiasm are essential.

What will I gain?

Volunteers will gain skills in communication, team working and working with children. You will have opportunities to share your passion for science, making it accessible and enjoyable.

Training and support

Volunteers will be supported by their Project Leaders throughout the year. Volunteers must attend induction / session planning meetings to prepare for teaching and delivering activities safely. All session content provided, no prior experience required.

Time commitment

Most sessions last 1-2 hours. This Semester they will be held online only.
