The Library Of Life is an independent popup library service which predominately shelves literary works of Black British authors who celebrate the African Diaspora.

This opportunity takes place between 18 Oct 2019 and 31 Aug 2021.

This role is all about producing eye catching, unique and beautiful designs which will engage children and aesthetically please parents. The role includes increasing our visibility online. Deciding what pictures would make great content to post,getting our audience to interact with us and helping us build an audience. An ideal candidate would have a strong interest in design or willingness to learn specialised software. They would have the ability to use their imagination to create unique concepts that are attractive to children. Incorporate outside inspiration into their designs to create exciting and innovative concepts that are still both functional and accessible. We aim to create resources that will engage children and make them excited about learning.

This role is currently remote - PC and internet connection required

What skills do I need?

Willingness to learn Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and in InDesign Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft PowerPoint & Word Ability to give & receive feedback on designs An eye for detail, creativity and imagination Has a sense of humour The ability to communicate well with others Is organised, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively Is able to communicate with colleagues and our external partners effectively, both written and verbally Has a hard work ethic, is passionate, driven and loves what they do

Training and support

You will be supervised throughout your volunteering experience You will be offered to go training courses throughout the year You will be assigned a mentor to help you fulfil your potential You will receive full training in photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
