Join our Specialist Mentoring Service (SMS) as a volunteer and help young people who struggle with their relationships.

Specialist Mentoring Scheme 2019/20

This opportunity takes place between 11 Sep 2019 and 31 Aug 2020.

SMS prioritizes young people who struggle at relationships, at risk of offending in the community /exclusion from school. We seek to enable young people to overcome barriers, discover their strengths and achieve goals.

What skills do I need?

Outgoing, Approachable, good listener, Able to identify needs.

What will I gain?

Accredited training, Experience in youth work and the voluntary sector.

Training and support

Training will be provided by Waypoint who provide accredited training. Volunteers will also receive supervision every six weeks.

Time commitment

The support will be reviewed after 6 sessions. We ask that our volunteerss meet the young person at least once every 2 weeks for a minimum of 2 hours.
