Age UK Sheffield Charity Shop Volunteer 2020/21

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2021.

Our Bradway and Abbeydale shops are open and we need volunteers! Could you help? You will develop your retail and people skills, while raising crucial funds to support the aims of Age UK Sheffield. No experience necessary! If you are fit and well, and keen please email or call 0114 250 2850  and ask to speak to Kellie who is the shop manager.

Do you want to be part of a friendly retail team? Do you enjoy meeting all sorts of different people? Are you looking for a varied and practical volunteering role? If yes, then volunteering in one of our community shops in Bradway or on Abbeydale Road is just what you’re looking for – a role where you can apply and develop your retail and people skills, while raising crucial funds to support the aims of Age UK Sheffield. No experience necessary!!!!
There are many activities that contribute to the success of our shops. Here are just some that you may be involved in. You will: 

• Operate the till and promote Gift Aid to donors 
• Accept donations
• Prepare and price donations for sale 
• Help create eye-catching window displays 
• Contribute to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers and volunteers 
The hours can be flexible. The shop will be open Monday to Saturday 9-5.

Please note the oportunities for this role are dependent on latest COVID guidelines and the number of volunteers operating in shop/warehouse at the time. We will maintain a waiting list if we are full and let you know when an opportunity arises. 

What skills do I need?

You need to be reliable and punctual. You need to be able to work as part of a team. You need to be sociable and respectful.

What will I gain?

You will gain retail experience. You will have the opportunity to work in different areas of the shop. You will make new friends. You will be able to include this in your CV. You will certainly be helping Age UK Sheffield in the crucial work we do with older, lonely members of our communities.

Training and support

You will be given training and continual support.

Time commitment

We would ask you to be able to do at least one shift per week which would be approximately 4 hours.

Top of Twentywell Lane, Bradway or 747 Abbeydale Road and hopefully further locations in the future.

You can catch buses to all locations. Or walk/cycle....
