Age UK Sheffield Charity Shop Volunteer Broomhill 2021/22

This opportunity takes place until 26 Nov 2021.

We need volunteers for our new Age UK Sheffield charity shop in Broomhill! Could you help? You will be part of a friendly retail team, meet all sorts of different people, develop your retail and people skills, while raising crucial funds to support the aims of Age UK Sheffield. No experience necessary!

This is a varied and practical volunteering role and there are many activities that contribute to the success of our shops. Here are just some that you may be involved in:

• Operate the till and promote Gift Aid to donors 
• Accept donations
• Prepare and price donations for sale 
• Help create eye-catching window displays 
• Contribute to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers and volunteers 

The hours you volunteer can be flexible. The shop is open Monday to Saturday 9-5.

What skills do I need?

You need to be reliable and punctual. You need to be able to work as part of a team. You need to be sociable and respectful.

What will I gain?

You will gain retail experience. You will have the opportunity to work in different areas of the shop. You will make new friends. You will be able to include this in your CV. You will certainly be helping Age UK Sheffield in the crucial work we do with older, lonely members of our communities.

Training and support

You will be given training and continual support.

Time commitment

We would ask you to be able to do at least one shift per week which would be approximately 4 hours. The shop is open Monday - Saturday, 9am-5pm.
