Beards & Books is a social enterprise that approaches learning from a dynamic angle. It wants to ensure that young people have access to multicultural books and enjoy the presence of BAME tutors.

Designer 2021/22

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2022

This role includes contributing to the entire process of defining requirements, visualising and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You'll be a part of a team that shapes the visual aspects of websites, books, magazines, product packaging, exhibitions and more. You will help make Beards and Books a recognisable brand and continuously find new ways to visually capture the attention of the audience.

This role is currently remote - PC and internet connection required

What skills do I need?

Minimum 1-2 years experience using design and photo-editing software. Exceptional creativity and innovation. Accuracy and attention to detail. Proven track record of showing understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment. Preferred degree of study in marketing, advertising, graphic design, or closely related field. Ability to craft and execute a vision with creativity and style. Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration. Strong and proven knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop and/or other

Training and support

We will train you by assessing your own personal learning and development needs and support you in meeting your goals through regular supervision and coaching.

Time commitment

2-4 hours per week. There is a degree of flexibility, however we do require a minimum of 2 hours per week to ensure you are kept involved and up-to-date.
