We are a Community Centre based in a Methodist Church in Sheffield 2 area. We provide a space where local people and groups can meet.

Memory Cafe Support Volunteer 2019/20

This opportunity takes place until 31 Aug 2019.

We are looking for volunteers to support the set up and running of a dementia friendly café in the S2 area of Sheffield. Training is available from Enrichment for the Elderly to understand better how to work with people with memory problems and isolation concerns.

What skills do I need?

To be a good communicator, friendly and able to work in a team.

What will I gain?

Experience working with people with memory problems including dementia. Experience working in a team. Experience working in the community. BDS check through Victoria Centre.

Enrichment for the Elderly training The Victoria Centre Volunteer induction (including policy and proceedures) Regular supervision

Time commitment

The memory café opens on Thursday 1 - 3 pm, with volunteers required from 12 - 4 pm. The session is open weekly, but volunteers can request fortnightly or monthly involvement.
