Get Active. Do Good. Have Fun! Take advantage of your Summer break and get involved in the local Sheffield community with our summer programme of volunteering and community engagement. There are lots of activities to take part in - all for a good cause!

Gardener / Children's Art Playworker 2019

This opportunity takes place between 24 Jun 2019 and 12 Sep 2019.

Firth Park Community Allotments would love help on their award winning family friendly plot... We urgently need help to get our plot in tip-top condition for RHS Yorkshire in Bloom judging and Sheffield Council allotment competition. Join our regular volunteers tackling weeds (no experience required - just your enthusiasm!) and helping at the Veg patch kids family fun sessions, including family playschemes. Are you artistic? Use your creative side creating a painted environmental mural and support the children paint it during family sessions. We are especially keen for help on our annual BIG LUNCH open day Monday 29th July. Volunteers will help setting out activities, manning registration and creating a fun way to collect feedback on the day. We are very keen to find a face-painter - can you help us? Ideally you should have attended at least 2 days on site prior to this event to familiarise yourself with our site and agree a task on this very busy day.

What skills do I need?

No prior experience required, just enthusiasm and willing to work with children. Creativity and artistic skills are a bonus!
